1.5      DELIVERIES, STORAGE, AND HANDLING

1. Store materials in areas where temperature will be maintained above 35 degrees F.
    

2. Protect from exposure to direct sunlight.
    

3. Stack or store in such a manner to prevent distortion of shape.

PART 2      PRODUCTS

2.1      MANUFACTURER

1. Provide DecoShield^® piping cover system manufactured by DecoShield^® Systems, Inc., 272 SW 12^th Avenue, Deerfield Beach, FL 33442. Telephone: (800) 873-0894 or (954) 725-7665, Fax: (800) 585-3894 or (954) 725-5993.

2.2       MATERIALS

1. Piping Cover System: Modular, snap-fit cover units, clips, and anchors which, once assembled, render the cover essentially irremovable with the use of ordinary tools. UL Listed for use with CPVC piping systems. 

2. Cover Units: L-shaped and U-shaped cross-section units of flame retardant resin material, paintable finish.

1. Surface burning characteristics when tested in accordance With ASTM

   1. E 84:Flame spread: 20

   2. Smoke developed: 250

2. Unit length: 7.5 feet.

3. Provide coupling fittings for joining units end to end and prefabricated inside and outside corner fittings and end caps.

4. Provide sidewall sprinkler head housing accommodating NFPA 13 drop assembly requirements.

5. Provide mounting clips to secure covers to wall-ceiling.

3. Pipe Hangers for CPVC Piping: Manufactured by cover system manufacturer: UL Listed; requiring no special tools for installation. 
    

   1. For supporting piping only: "Snap-2" hangers.

   2. For supporting both piping and covers: "Combo" hangers that automatically position pipe in cover. 
       

4. Pipe Hangers for Copper and Steel Piping: Design and dimensions compatible with cover system; UL Listed 
    

5. Paint: Acrylic latex; color to match adjoining surfaces.

PART 3      EXECUTION

3.1     INSTALLATION

1. Install in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and recommendations.
    

2. See Section 13980 - Fire Protection Piping for requirements for installation of piping. Space hangers supporting piping in accordance with applicable requirements.
    

3. Space hangers and mounting clips supporting covers to hold the covers and fittings firmly against the mounting surface without gaps or unpleasant appearance
    

4. Install cover units using coupling fittings and corner units as required.
    

5. Paint entire cover assembly. Cover sprinkler heads carefully during painting and remove covering completely immediately after painting.
